about me

I'm Lynn Henson, and if you're here at my website, you're probably interested in zombies destroying the world. I used to make video games, but I decided to get out because meetings suck and unpaid overtime sucks harder. I've written two books in the Buried Instincts series with the third on the way.

The things that interest me: video games, Japanese culture, science fiction, fantasy, horror, board games, koto music, guqin music, martial arts, food, coffee drinks that taste good, and anything with boba in it.

Buried Instincts - The Zombie Apocalypse

My first novel! I wanted to see if I could write a book and this was the result.

While I find the subject matter of the zombie apocalypse to be fascinating, I have yet to read or watch a story that fully satisfies whatever mental itch that draws me to this stuff. So I'm writing one myself.

This book represents the first act of what I plan to be a trilogy of books. It follows a pretty average guy named Blake who watches civilization collapse all around him as he bands together with people to find somewhere to not have to live like cavemen.

Buried Instincts - Lost and Found

This picks up right where the last book left off. Continue to follow Blake and Bree as they make their way through increasingly uncivilized zombie America.

All's not yet lost though as groups of resourceful survivors have managed to establish safe zones that can push back against the undead.

And to further complicate matters, it's starting to look like the apocalypse wasn't a random act...

So much for updating on the regular. Hope does spring eternal though.

I caught the latest covid variant a couple of weeks ago and suffered through that. The worst part was the fatigue. Even the coughing, sore throat, and crazy amounts of mucus I usually experience was really minimal. The crazy part was trying to figure out what was wrong with me. I had convinced myself that it was allergies. On day 3 when I felt tired as shit, I remembered seeing high amounts of covid in the wastewater in the news so I dug out an old test kit and had the answer. Anyway, I'm feeling fine now and it's back to work as usual.

When I first launched the new website I made it my goal to get it done prior to our trip to visit family in Macau. I did manage to accomplish that and finally set up my cat nap email, so yay me.

Ok, so for those of you that just discovered that I exist (hopefully because you read my books) or if you're just checking in to see if I got off my ass and wrote the next book in the Buried Instincts series, then you'd have noticed my website has been down for a few months. What happened is that it when it was time to renew the website hosting, I decided it was too expensive, so I cancelled.

Don't worry. The third book is still coming. It's just shy of 400 pages as of this writing.

I wasn't really too keen on wordpress, so now I'm learning sitejet. I had to get over a huge learning speedbump, but I think I'm pretty much over it and I think the results have been promising so far.

So anyway, I wasn't updating the last website regularly, but I'm going to try to fool myself into updating this one more often by turning this into something that reflects what's going on with me.

Fingers crossed.
